We have been having a lot of fun this month...here are a few of the latest fun filled moments!
Payton got her 1st hair cut- nothing drastic, just evening it up :)
She got to sit in the fire truck chair and watch Dora

The new do!
Another day at the zoo with friends

Chad and I went to the Nuggets playoff game

It was an awesome game, we won!
I embroidered this for our family reunion quilt-
the number 5 is because my grandma is #5 of 15 kids

A Few Fun Things

Last weekend I was able to go to Grandma Hammond's and scrapbook with all the girls. These are my 2 completed pages :)

I also finished another pair of shoes- they went a lot quicker and turned out pretty cute.
Go Nuggets!
Payton was coloring at her table this week and I took these cute pictures of her.
She is so intent on her 'credibles' picture.
Here she is before church, painted toes and smoothie.

A Surprise Visitor

We were sitting down for dinner when Payton looked out the window from her little table and said 'look little man'. A little confused I walked over to the window and to my surprise my dad was kneeling looking in the window at Payton. He was in the neighborhood and it was nice to see him.
Payton loved up on her Papa and was all grins while he was here. I know my dad was enjoying himself too, he even had to call my mom and rub in the fact he was here!
Payton even leaned over and said 'aww, best friend'.
Thanks for the visit Papa!!

At the Zoo with Friends

Today we went to the zoo with our friends, Jenny, Adam, Jacob and Hannah. We saw so many neat things and had lots of fun being with friends.

They were our little herd of wandering hands, touching everything and asking TONS of questions.
It was such a beautiful day- we were glad we got started early because by 10 we were already hot and hungry.

Payton and Hannah are pretty cute together. All of the kids really enjoyed the monkeys.

Between the double stroller and wagon it was a full out game of musical chairs. Both of us mom's had our work cut out for us!!

More of the girls :)
Adam was so cute with the orangutan- can't you tell he is excited?
Even Payton decided to give a 'cheese' with the up close primate.

We had a great day at the Zoo and the weather was fantastic, we are looking forward to spending more days at the Zoo this summer (yeah for zoo passes- thanks grammie and papa).

My Crafty Nature

I have decided that even though I pick out all of these crafty projects (curtains, scrap booking, crocheting dish rags, crocheting a blanket, altering scrubs) unless it is something I can do in a short amount of time it most likely will not get done. While all of the above projects are started I still really have no desire to finish them...I don't know if it is the time needed to finish them, the fact I have already spent so much time with them or if there is this unreachable satisfaction. Which ever it is, I am on to the next project.
I found this pattern online for baby shoes that took a little over 2 hours to finish. It was perfect for me- no commitments and immediate satisfaction. Payton liked them so much she even tried to put them on :)
I imagine you will be seeing more of these in the future as I really had fun making them.
We went to Colorado Mills mall last night and we finally decided to let Payton ride the 'merry go round' (that's what Payton thinks it is called because Dora the Explorer called it that). She was so excited and it was worth the wait.

NEW

We got a NEW car!! It is a 2002 Honda CRV and we are really excited :)
Can you see the excitement?
The NEW King Soopers opened across the street.
We took the red wagon to the store and couldn't help a quick stop at the park.
Payton didn't mind sharing her wagon with all the groceries, it worked out really nice.

Violated!

This is what's left of our food storage...
Since we now we have enough room to store food, Chad and I have been trying to follow the prophet's council. We didn't have much but it was apparently enough to welcome some rodent friends.
Bags of noodles, breakfast items, potato flakes, chips, crackers, sugar- all sent to the trash with ripped edges and evidence of infiltration. We looked all over the basement and decided on the areas of concern where the vermin are most likely getting in. We cleaned up the mess and set traps and sealed the holes.
We have been here almost 8 months and I think it is the building in the field across the street that has sent the mice our direction.

On a brighter note, I now have Tuesdays off work.
Payton and I joined a few of our friends at the park, she really is starting to enjoy playing with other kids.
They all took turns riding and pushing.
She is our little monkey!
To an eventful and satisfactory day :)
